Through the Flemo City Media initiative, 15-20 youth participate in a weekly radio drop-in program at a studio space in the Dennis R Timbrell Community Centre, taking turns running broadcast talk shows on current events and relevant youth issues.

Round 1 YCF funding was used to purchase equipment and resources to improve the studio space, allowing young people to build skills in both broadcasting and production. Youth who lead the program have built capacity and skills, leveraging this experience to create new opportunities in the community through new partnerships (i.e. Royal Conservatory of Music, CHRY radio station) and outreach events (i.e. March Break Outreach Blitz, "Stop the Violence" BBQ, Ontario Prospects Invitational basketball tournament).

FCM staff formed a Youth Engagement Strategy (YES) team to work on FCM's Legacy space initiative, funded by YCF in Round 5. The YES team consists of two youth leaders from FCM and other agencies in the neighbourhood, City of Toronto staff and other adult allies collaborating on the redevelopment of the Dennis R. Timbrell space. This opportunity would not have been possible without the funding FCM received from YCF in Round 1 for the broadcasting drop-in program.
