Board Biography
Tim Penner
Tim Penner, President of Procter & Gamble Inc., joined Procter & Gamble Canada 30 years ago, after graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1978. His initial career was in marketing, first in Laundry Products, and later in Health Care. He was promoted to General Manager of P&G's Health Care business in 1991. Tim and his family have moved internationally twice. From 1993-96, he was Vice President of P&G's Health and Beauty Care business in the U.K. and Ireland, based in Surrey U.K. From 1996-99, he was Vice President of P&G's North American Tissue/Towel business, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He returned to Canada in 1999, as President of P&G Inc., based in Toronto.
Throughout his career, Tim has served on various community, educational and professional committees. He serves on the Board of the Youth Challenge Fund. He is on the International Advisory Council, Schulich School of Business (York University), and is on the Ontario Task Force on Competitiveness and Prosperity. He serves on the Executive of the Board, and is Past Chair of GS-1 (formerly Electronic Commerce Council of Canada) and Food & Consumer Products of Canada. He was Chair of the United Way of Greater Toronto 2007 Campaign, after serving as Deputy Chair for 2006. Tim also served as Honorary Chair for Career Bridge, a successful internship program that links qualified, professional-level immigrants with Canadian employers.
Tim is married to Pat and they have three children – Scott (23), Chris (20), and Gillian (14).
